Celebrating Regis People who provide outstanding care

Nominations may be made by: a current employee, care recipient, family member, community stakeholder or a volunteer. Individual or self-nominations will only be accepted for the Innovation of the Year and Home of the Year categories. No other individual or self-nominations will be considered.

Individual employee nominees must have more than 6 months service with Regis to be considered. Employees and volunteers at new acquisitions or builds must have worked at their home or for Regis for more than 6 months as of 31st July 2020.

All projects or programs nominated must have been in full operational mode for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 24 months by 31st July 2020.

1. Initiative or Innovation of the Year

  • An outcome which demonstrates Regis’ commitment to ongoing improvement and an innovative approach
  • Proving the importance of this initiative or innovation.

2. Service Excellence

3. Outstanding Home Services

4. Clinical Care Excellence

OPEN TO CLINICIANS INCLUDING ENS, RNS, CMS AND OTHER CLINICAL ROLES SUCH AS CST

We recognise the clinicians who have made an outstanding contribution through:

  • An ability to be an advocate and professional role model
  • Leading, developing and delivering programs that have a positive outcome for our customers

5. Outstanding Carer

OPEN TO CARERS IN NON-DEMENTIA CARE (RESIDENTIAL AND OTHER)

We recognise individuals or teams who have provided outstanding and compassionate care through:

  • An outstanding contribution to improving care for residents
  • Positive results in resident care every day, sometimes in the face of adversity or other challenges
  • Understanding, compassion or courage
  • A willingness to ensure our residents are at the centre of everything they do.

6. Outstanding Dementia Care

OPEN TO INDIVIDUALS OR TEAMS WORKING IN DEMENTIA CARE (RESIDENTIAL AND OTHER INCLUDING CARE, ALLIED HEALTH, CATERING, LAUNDRY, LIFESTYLE OR MAINTENANCE)

We recognise individuals or teams who have provided outstanding and compassionate dementia care through:

  • An outstanding contribution to improving care for dementia residents
  • Positive results in resident’s dementia care every day, sometimes in the face of adversity or other challenges
  • Understanding, compassion or courage
  • A willingness to ensure our dementia customers are at the centre of everything they do.

7. Outstanding Personal Leadership

OPEN TO INDIVIDUALS OR TEAMS

We recognise leaders who have helped their team achieve exceptional performance through:

  • A clear purpose, value, direction and performance expectation for their team, department or project
  • Setting and meeting high standards and helping others achieve them
  • Demonstrating timely and effective decision making, reporting, and risk management skills
  • Showing a commitment to safety, quality systems, social and environmental responsibility
  • Encouraging creativity, collaboration, positivity and innovation
  • Helping employees expand their skills, confidence, talent and thinking
  • Giving their own time to advise and guide team members’ careers.

8. Volunteer of the Year

We recognise volunteers who have provided outstanding service through:

  • Working tirelessly at a home for an extended period
  • Providing exceptional care and support for older people and their carers
  • Adding to the everyday experiences of our customers and enriching their lives
  • Providing great support to our employees.

9. Outstanding Safety and Wellbeing

OPEN TO TEAMS OR INDIVIDUALS

We recognise employees who have shown an outstanding commitment to workplace safety, health and wellbeing through:

  • Practical demonstrations of the commitment to customers and colleagues’ health, safety and wellbeing
  • The use of catch & call to share positive knowledge and experience
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and consultation
  • Creation and support of workplace mental health initiatives
  • Leadership by example resulting in a safer workplace and/or a more supportive and inclusive environment for employees recovering from injury or illness
  • Identifying and implementing effective solutions to control hazards in the workplace.

10. Environmental Leadership

OPEN TO TEAMS OR INDIVIDUALS

We will recognise teams who have made a significant contribution to environmental sustainability through projects that:

  • Have had a positive impact on the environment and have a meaningful and demonstrable impact on Regis and/or enhance the quality of life for customers
  • Embraces innovation/creativity and is a new concept, technology or practice for Regis
  • Are transferable and can be replicated by sites/teams
  • Demonstrate initiative and how the group took action to move environmental sustainability forward at their site.

Note: ‘Customers’ refers to residents, care recipients, suppliers, and the wider community.

CEO Award

OPEN TO TEAMS OR INDIVIDUALS NOMINATED IN OTHER CATEGORIES

The winner is selected by the CEO from all shortlisted nominations and goes to the team or individual whose actions make them a true ambassador of Regis. This award recognises integrity, exceptional skills, leadership and/or innovation, and those who have had a positive impact on our customers and/or colleagues.
